Endometriosis

Title and context :
The title "Endometriosis" refers to a complex medical condition that affects many people. I chose this title to represent the pain, complexity and strength associated with this condition. My intention was to capture the emotions and challenges associated with endometriosis through a visually impactful composition.

Colours and Emotions

Colour palette :
I used a bright, contrasting colour palette, with shades of pink, blue, black and orange. Pink and orange represent pain and inflammation, while blue symbolises sadness and struggle. Touches of black add a dimension of depth and gravity, underlining the complexity of the condition.

Atmosphere :
The overall atmosphere of the work is intense and emotional. I wanted the viewer to feel the scale of the physical and emotional challenges associated with endometriosis. The dynamic colours and shapes create a chaotic yet powerful atmosphere, reflecting the emotional rollercoaster experienced by people with this condition.

Techniques and textures

Technical details :
For this painting, I used a technique of layering colours and geometric shapes to create a rich and varied texture. Bold brushstrokes and abstract shapes blend together to form a harmonious yet dynamic composition. Dripping and scratching techniques add depth and movement to the work, symbolising pain and confusion.

Forms and Symbolism :
The abstract shapes and geometric patterns symbolise the different aspects of endometriosis, including pain, struggle and resilience. Curved lines and flowing shapes represent the complexity of the condition, while bursts of bright colour evoke moments of strength and determination. Black and dark elements recall moments of despair and hardship.

Message

With "Endometriosis", I wanted to express the idea that even in moments of pain and confusion, there is an inner strength and resilience that emerges. My aim was to create a work that invites the viewer to connect with the experiences of people living with endometriosis and to recognise their courage and perseverance. The painting is a celebration of human strength in the face of pain and adversity.

In summary, 'Endometriosis' is a work that uses bright colours and dynamic shapes to capture the essence of the pain, struggle and resilience associated with this condition. My hope is that the viewer will feel transported by this emotional energy and connect with the complex and powerful reality of endometriosis.
