Beauty

Title and context :
The title "Beauty" refers to the search for aesthetics and harmony in simplicity and nature. I chose this title to highlight the beauty hidden in everyday, natural elements that are often overlooked. My intention was to capture this discreet but profound essence of beauty.

Colours and Emotions

Colour palette :
I used an earthy colour palette, with shades of brown, green and blue. These natural colours symbolise the earth, vegetation and water, elements that are essential to life and intrinsically beautiful. The earthy tones bring a sense of calm and serenity, inviting the viewer to appreciate the simplicity and depth of the natural elements.

Atmosphere :
The overall atmosphere of the work is soothing and meditative. I wanted the viewer to feel a connection with nature and inner tranquillity when observing this composition. The soft colours and organic shapes create a harmonious and balanced atmosphere.

Techniques and textures

Technical details :
For this painting, I used layering and scraping techniques to create varied and interesting textures. The brushstrokes and layers of paint blend together to form a rich, textured surface. I also used scraping techniques to reveal the layers underneath and add depth to the work.

Forms and Symbolism :
The abstract and organic shapes evoke natural elements such as plants and flowers. Curved lines and flowing forms symbolise the growth and movement of nature, while textures add a tactile and visual dimension. Each element of the composition is designed to represent an aspect of natural beauty.

Message

With "Beauty", I wanted to express the idea that true beauty lies in simplicity and nature. My aim was to create a work that invites the viewer to reflect on what beauty is and to appreciate the subtle details of the natural world around us. This painting is a celebration of natural beauty, an invitation to contemplate and appreciate the simple but essential elements of life.

In summary, 'Beauty' is a work that uses earthy colours and organic forms to explore the notion of natural beauty. My hope is that the viewer will feel soothed and inspired by this celebration of the simplicity and harmony of nature.
