Title and context :
I named this painting 'Twilight' to evoke that moment of transition between day and night, when the light changes and the world seems to transform. Twilight is a moment of calm and reflection, a time when nature reveals unique colours and textures that I wanted to capture in this work.

Colour palette :
I used a palette of earthy colours, mixed with touches of neon and bright hues. Browns and beiges represent earth and wood, evoking stability and solidity. Accents of green, pink and neon blue add a dimension of modernity and surprise, symbolising the unexpected elements that can be seen at dusk.

Atmosphere :
The colours and textures blend together to create an atmosphere of mystery and serenity. I wanted the viewer to feel the tranquillity and wonder of watching twilight, while discovering the hidden details and subtle nuances of the scene.

Techniques and textures

Technical details :
For this painting, I used layering and scraping techniques to create a variety of textures. The vertical and horizontal lines are reminiscent of the silhouettes of trees or buildings silhouetted against the horizon at dusk. The drips of paint add an impression of movement and fluidity, as if the light itself were transforming.

Forms and Symbolism :
The geometric shapes and lines represent the natural and human structures that can be seen at dusk. Areas of brighter colour symbolise the reflections of the setting sun on different surfaces, creating unexpected flashes of light. The darker elements evoke lengthening shadows and the mysteries of the night to come.

Message

With 'Crépuscule', I wanted to capture the beauty and magic of this unique moment in the day. My aim was to create a work that invites the viewer to contemplate the transition between day and night, to appreciate the subtle details and changes in light. This painting is a celebration of nature and its transformations, an invitation to meditation and wonder.
